August Sander
















August Sander (1876-1964) 
was one of the greatest German photographers 
of the 20th century.
'Man of the Twentieth Century'
is Sander's most monumental work:
working people and natives of the 
Westerwald, near Cologne.
And although the Nazis banned his portraits 
in the 1930's, Sander
still kept on taking photos.
