NYC: Soho Grand Hotel

What a hotel!

Located in the centre of Soho, this is an 

amazing place to stay at.

The mixture of vintage iron architecture, 

very high ceilings and 

a through and through vibrant atmosphere makes

this hotel a very special place.

And the bar is absolutely amazing!!

Last week we stayed in NY again

and we got a recommendation for this awesome restaurant:

The family-run company was founded in 

1872 in Solingen / Germany.

and is still run by the family Herder in 

4th and 5th generation.

A lot of handmade techniques are still used,

to produce the items.

Every morning, when I use my rounded knife, 

I know to appreciate this good quality.

August Sander

August Sander (1876-1964) 

was one of the greatest German photographers 

of the 20th century.

'Man of the Twentieth Century'
is Sander's most monumental work:

working people and natives of the 

Westerwald, near Cologne.

And although the Nazis banned his portraits 

in the 1930's, Sander

still kept on taking photos.

was an American hipster 

and composer. His special style playing 

the piano soon developed to an attraction.

Till today his music, 

that he composed for the 'the Peanuts' is 

unforgettable and famous.

So, I promised to report about the fragrance

'Another 13' 

designed in cooperation of Colette and le Labo.

What shall I say? 

It is absolutely amazing:

a magic potion built around ambrox - 

a note with an animal quality that hurts so good.

Distinctive but still very sensual.

Fortunately I got it for X-mas:

so now I can smell it all the time....

I love it!

New Year's Eve

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

What an exciting evening:

We saw the fabulous Gala of 

the 'Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester' 

with artists of the famous Circus Roncalli.

Special guest of the show was the world-famous harpist 

Xavier de Maistre 

- what a musical delight!

Afterwards we spent with him, his lovely wife and daughter and 

wonderful friends 

a great New Year's evening.

So, I'm really looking forward to 2013...
