Peter Plotnicki

Foto: Oliver Breitwieser

Peter Plotnicki outfit no.2 -

here you can see Peter wearing the vest and the jacket
of his outfit no.2. The Japanese fabric,
woven on old vintage looms, is indigo dyed.
And also the Merz b. Schwanen T-shirt he is wearing
underneath is indigo:
hand dip-dyed with all-natural indigo in a small
workshop in Germany...
I love this blue!!!

Holly Golightly

Holly Golightly -
'A girl can't read that sort of thing without her lipstick':
this daring darling in that great movie played by
the wonderful Audrey Hepburn.
But do you also know the singer
 Holly Golightly?
She did this wonderful tune
'There is an end'
with the Greenehornes...
I love it!

Baracuta

Baracuta G9 Harrington jacket -
it started in the 1930's in the UK as a short raincoat made out of
waterproof cotton and Fraser tartan lining.
Actually it was designed for playing golf in lousy English weather:
its deep and angled pockets are designed for holding golf balls.
Since Elvis Presley wore the jacket in the movie 'King Creole' in 1958,
Hollywood has reintrouduced the jacket from generation to generation.
James Dean wore a red one in 'Rebel without cause' and in the 1960's
Steve McQueen made the jacket legendary in 'the Thomas Crown affair'.
But it was also worn by e.g. Frank Sinatra, Ryan O'Neill,
The Clash, Clint Eastwood and many others.
It is truly an original...

STANLEY since 1913

Stanley Thermalware -
I really really love outdoor sports and hiking.
And if it's cold, it' s so nice to have a warming tea with me...
So: my Stanley Vacuum bottle is never missing!
In 1913 William Stanley Jr. invented the all-steel vacuum bottle.
A revolution: till then only glass had been used to insulate.
Then in 1953 the iconic hammertone green was introduced
for the first time on a Stanley bottle.
In 2012 Outside Magazine names the
Stanley Vacuum Bottle as one of
"The Most Influential Gear of All Time".
2013: Stanley turns 100!
So don't miss the 100th anniversary bottle...

Fever-Tree

                                                                     Fever-Tree -
the company's name derives from the tree which
provides chinin, the bittern used in
tonic water, in its bark.
The products of 'Fever-Tree' stand for all natural
and high quality products.
For this reason company founders Charles and Tim solely use
ingredients from small special suppliers:
e.g. the purest chinin you can get worldwide from a plantation in the Congo
or selected lemons from the hillsides from Mount Etna.
I just love this tonic water:
it makes a great Gin to perfect Gin Tonic....

Mr.Men and little Miss

Mr.Men and little Miss -
1971 a little boy asked his dad:
"What does a tickle look like?"
This inspired Roger Hargraves to create a little
orange man with a big grin, a silly blue hat and
extraordinary long arms:
Mr. Tickle, the first of Mr. Men, was born!
Since then the small, white square books were
an instant success.
I really love these books so much:
they're so much fun to read and show
in such a nice and lovely way, that we shouldn't
take life too serious, but have fun and have
a good sense of humor afterall...

what a sympathetic and inspiring guy!!

Badminton

Jean-Baptiste Siméon Chardin:
Das Mädchen mit dem Federball

Badminton / Federball -
I really like this kind of sports...
It's so much fun going out, enjoying nice weather
and playing badminton in the park
with the family and friends.
In India already 2000 years ago people played
a similar game, were a ball with
chicken feathers was used.
But Badminton itself derives from the county Gloucestershire.
1872 the colonial officer brought the game Poona from
India and soon found a lot of aficionados.
And because at that time, there weren't any halls where it
could be played, people went into churches and played it
there: what a nice idea...

Berlin: Buck and Breck

Buck & Breck -
voted best 2012.
Indeed: I really love this bar!
From the outside there is only a display window,
which rather reminds on an art gallery,
and a ring where you can read 'bar'.
Inside: a very small room all in black
with great art on the walls.
As center there is the big bar, where
only 14 people can have a seat.
Beside some individual creations, the bartenders
Goncalo de Sousa Monteira and
Holger Groll are specialized on shortdrinks
from the late 19th century.
My absolute favourite one?
French 75... great!

Prestat

Prestat London Gin Truffles -
the perfect cocktail Gin & Lemon with a
touch of fizz.
London Gin is one of the finest spirits worldwide and these
truffles are an homage to a London Gin & Lemon Fizz cocktail.
In 1895 the chocolate truffle was created by
Prestat's founder the Dufour family.
Since then these chocolates have been enjoyed by
royalty, nobility and stars.
And: the Prestat's truffles were a favourite of
Roald Dahl...

BUNNEY

Bunney Jewellery London -
the brand started in 2009 and has become known for
its line of beguilingly beautiful products.
Made in workshops around England, including the
historic Quarter in Birmingham, each piece is
hand-finished with care and attention:
Lucky me, that I got one of their wonderful

Hokey Pokey

Hokey Pokey Berlin Prenzlauer Berg -
there really are some good ice cream parlours in Berlin...
But actually this is my favourite one!
Only best ingredients are used, e.g. deep brown finest French chocolate,
extremely aromatic and slightly roasted hazelnuts
and fresh fruits for the sorbets...
And although you might have to wait in a rather long line
I tell you:
it is absolutely worth it!!

TOPO Design

TOPO Designs
Denver, Colorado, USA -
great luggage, rucksacks, bags and accessories developed
by a team of designers who grew up and still live in the mountains
and who spend a lot of time outdoors.
They are fishers, hunters, hikers, ski instructors, climbers and bikers
which were searching for the perfect outdoor-luggage for quite a long time.
At Topo Designs it is a lot about how things are made and why,
about the value of creating versus consuming.
All items are made in a LEED certified building in Colorado, USA with an
amazing view of the Rockies...
So all you hikers out there: maybe on your next hiking tour
there will be a TOPO rucksack on your back also...?

Steven Alan

Steven Alan -
known as an uncommon fashion pioneer, Alan opened
his first retail store in 1994 in NYC.
Meanwhile there are six stores in NYC, three in
Southern California
and a great online-shop.
Steven Alan built up a reputation for scouting the
most intriguing young designers.
In 1999 he launched his first own collection:
a unique brand of casual, smart, self-assured essentials
for both men and women.
I'm proud that items of my collection are sold in
these great stores...
