Benny Goodman: Sing Sing Sing

Benny Goodman -
that driving drum beat, that wailing wall of horn:
'Sing, Sing, Sing' is one of the jazz tunes of the 1930's!
Benny Goodman, an American hipster and swing bandleader made this title,
composed by Louis Prima in 1936, to an unforgettable tune
when he gave his legendary jazz live concert on this cold evening
of the 16th January in the
famous New Yorker Carnegie Hall in 1938.
Gene Krupa on drums, with a beat reminding on 'Jungle Music',
Harry James on trumpet and the mesmerising piano solo from Jess Stacy,
improvised from the moment Goodman unexpectedly nodded to him,
and finally the striking solo from Goodman on the clarinet
make this title so absolutely capturing, energetic and legendary!

Adam Marelli - Photographer

Adam Marelli -
artist & photographer is based in NYC.
His projects explore the ancient crafts of building,
maestros in their workshops,
and designs handed down through generations.
Teaching lost lessons of Classical Design,
the success of his methods
saw him named as the
'Leica Akademie's Resident Photographer' in NYC.
And whatever he is photographing:
he is in constant search of the threads
which bind our cultures together.
Please check his great blog!!

Berlin: East Side Gallery

East Side Gallery -
removing some parts of the Wall
has lead to protests and restistance recently.
Indeed: times and also things change...
But still: isn't it even more important, to be
remembered and not to forget sometimes,
being able to make changes afterall?
History can not only be locked-in in museums,
it has to be lived in the streets:
because there are still so many walls
that have to be removed,
shouldn't some walls remain?

Paris: Le Sourire de Saigon

Le sourire de Saigon -
what a lovely place to have wonderful
Vietnamese food!
Fantastic fresh and delicate spiced
dishes served in an
extraordinary atmosphere, that let's you feel,
as if you are in an original 40's Hollywood setting.
And the service was very friendly and obliging.
The next time we're in Paris,
we absolutely want to go there again!
